Orthodontic Care Practice
Straight teeth are healthy teeth — Teeth that are properly aligned are easier to keep clean with flossing and brushing, and may help prevent other health problems.
A beautiful, straight smile builds confidence — Orthodontic treatment can help boost your self-confidence, giving you a better quality of life and the freedom to smile without holding back!
Mouths left untreated can get worse — Not receiving orthodontic treatment when it’s needed can create long-term health issues costing you more in the end.
The purpose of orthodontic treatment is to assure an optimal occlusion (contact between the upper and lower teeth) thus ensuring ideal healthy, functional, and aesthetic dentition. Thus children, teen and adults can reap the benefits of orthodontic treatment.
However, in order to obtain an ideal and lasting result, it is advisable to start orthodontic treatment at early age. This early age treatment starts during the early permanent dentition stage before skeletal growth is completed and consists in reorienting the growth of the jaw bone. Subsequently, the treatment consists in ensuring that each tooth has an optimal location in the mouth where it is in harmony with the lips, cheeks, tongue, and other teeth.
If skeletal growth has completed, orthodontic surgery can be an option to treat complex cases.
This active phase of treatment is completed by a passive phase (using retainers) that will hold the teeth and jaw bones in their new positions.
An orthodontic assessment of the patient is necessary to determine the treatment plan, type of appliances to be used, the duration of treatment time, and the frequency of visits.
